The Runaways – Whisky a Go Go, New Year’s Eve 1976 Original Concert Poster Los Angeles, CA – Presented by Kim Fowley
Original first-printing concert poster for The Runaways’ legendary New Year’s Eve performance at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles, presented by their infamous manager Kim Fowley. This December 31st, 1976 show cemented The Runaways' place in the L.A. glam-punk scene. The band is billed here as “The Queens of Noise,” with support from The Quick.
Condition (Very Good): Graded by Heritage Auctions as Very Good. The poster has six horizontal creases evenly spaced from top to bottom—none of which break color. Also present are several short vertical "worm creases" (around 1" each), mostly visible on the reverse, but they do appear faintly in the faces of the upper two right members of the band. Again, they do not break ink. A light brown spot is visible under one of their eyes, with a few more spots and light grime in the upper half of the poster.
The verso has four small remaining pieces of brown masking tape in the corners, from where it was once taped in a window. There are no tears, pinholes, writing, or fading.
